Just a quick update today. On May 8, I will be presenting “The 5 Stages of Recovery from Psychological Injury or Trauma” at Peer Support Canada’s two-day 2018 National Conference on Peer Support in Calgary, Alberta. I’ll be doing one of the things I love to do the most: spreading the message of recovery.

I’m planning to walk participants through the Five Stages of Recovery and teach them how to use the framework to support their mental health and wellness as well as that of those they support. I’m hoping to make it a very interactive and informative workshop for them.

I’m really looking forward to the conference and connecting with other peer supporters, non-profit leaders, health care providers, health system leaders, thinkers and innovators and everyone who will be attending. Peer support is growing rapidly in Canada and playing a vital role in supporting people with mental health disorders across this country. I’m honoured to be a part of this strong community and a participant in the conference. Learning, sharing and connecting with people–and connecting people to each other–is also one of the other things I love to do.  And I’m sure there will be many opportunities to do this at conference.

Together we are stronger in wellness.

    Mandi B.

I look forward to working ⚒ closely with you as I continue to advocate for the health and well being of children. It takes more than a village to raise resilient children it takes well balanced adults with an abundance of courage and tenacity.

Validation & Peer Support is a important component of the equation. Thank you!

Thank you for writing Damaris. So sorry for lateness in responding.
I walked participants through the 5 stages of recovery in order to provide participants with the tools help not only themselves but others. I believe that we need to first look at our beliefs before we can articulate it to others. I believe that by sharing our knowledge and experience with others – then we are helping each other.

Thank you Izzy. I think you are going to do a phenomenal job in the space of health and well-being for children – both in the education and mental health focuses.
